Frequently asked questions.

Q. Are enemas or suppositories required for treatment?

A. No. While enemas or suppositories are a very safe and effective treatment for encopresis (and enuresis), they are not required. The majority of my clients are on oral regimens only (taken by mouth). During our consultation, we will go over all treatment options and decide which regimen will be most effective AND best tolerated by your child.

Q. Is there a cancellation list to move my appointment up sooner?

A. Yes. Once you schedule your consultation appointment, please send me an email (emily@encoexpert.com) requesting to be added to the cancellation list. I will send you confirmation you have been added and work you in as quickly as possible.

Q. Does my child need to be present during the consultation?

A. No, it is not necessary for the child to be present during the call. If the parent thinks it would be helpful for the child to speak with me, I am more than happy to do so during the initial consult. However, it is not required and typically not necessary.

Q. Is insurance accepted?

A. Unfortunately I am unable to accept insurance at this time.

Q. Can an HSA or FSA account be used for payment?

A. Some HSA cards may be accepted via Stripe. If your card is not accepted through the payment software, you may consider submitting the receipt for possible reimbursement. As always, consult your tax advisor for detailed HSA/FSA eligible purchases.
